What should I bring for my child?

If your child is in the Nursery (six weeks - 3 years old), we recommend bringing a diaper bag and bottle, both labeled with your child's name, as well as a change of clothes - just in case. Please feel free to bring any comfort items your child might have (blanket or favorite toy).
Older children may like to bring a Bible, but it is not necessary. For these older ones, we discourage bringing toys, as they may accidentally get left behind.

What are your safety procedures?

Here at Gateway Baptist Church the care and security of your children are our top priority. When you drop your children off, you pick them up at the same location. We require all parents/guardians to sign the children in and out and you receive a numbered ticket that matches your child's numbered bracelet. We only release children to their parents/guardians with the matching numbers. It is our job to keep your children safe and secure; so you can worship our Lord knowing your children are safe.

How does Gateway keep parents involved in their child's experience at church?

We love parents to be a part of KidStuff! Drop in any time and take part in this fun worship experience with your child!

How will you contact me if my child needs me?

When you sign in your child at the Nursery Desk, you are given a token. Pagers are available upon request. The sign-in sheet has a place for you to note where you will be during the times your child is in the nursery. The pager will vibrate during the service if your child needs you. The Nursery Director will also come and get you if needed.
When you sign in your child ages 4s, 5s and Kindergarteners there is a place for parents to note where they will be during the time your child is in class.

How can I volunteer in the nursery or children's areas?

There are many ways in which you can serve, including teaching and co-teaching or as a substitute teacher.
If you would like more information on volunteering or paid positions available for the Nursery (6 weeks - 3 years old), contact Nicole Mikel.
If you would like information on volunteering for KidsTown or KidStuff (4 years old - sixth grade), contact Brian Parrish. Or if you prefer, you may reach either of them by telephone at 281-363-4500.

How do I pick up my child after service?

If you have a Nursery-aged child, you simply return to the Nursery Desk and turn in the token given when you first signed in your child.
Children ages 4s, 5s and Kindergarteners are given color-coded armbands when they arrive, and parents are given a claim ticket that corresponds to their child's armband. After service, parents simply turn in this ticket to their child's class to check out their child.

Do you provide assistance for children with special needs?
