Community Outreach
Community Connection
Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission, which extends to the entire world and begins with our neighborhoods
and the Spring/Conroe community. Community Connection involves Gateway families reaching out in various ways to share
the love of Christ, and to impact our area. Community Connection is the perfect opportunity to be involved in outreach
in a non-intrusive way, but at the same time lets people know we care.
Here are a few of the options and opportunities:
- Bread Ministry - We have a team that bakes and a team that delivers banana bread to our first time guests. This isn´t a "visit"; if no one is home, we simply leave the gift on their doorstep. It´s just a personal touch - our way of saying, "Thanks for visiting Gateway!"
- New Resident Bags - This team delivers our welcome package to new residents in our area. It’s not an "in-house" visit, just a quick conversation at the door.
- Calling/Writing Ministry - This group of volunteers writes cards and makes phone calls to those who have visited Gateway. We want every visitor to know they were noticed and are welcome to join us again!
Neighborhood Network
Twice a year, special emphasis is given to invite our community to join us in worship through Neighborhood Network. Everyone has a network of relationships in our families, on the job and in the community. These built-in networks of relationships can be used to accomplish God’s eternal purpose. We highlight the weeks leading up to Easter and Thanksgiving to be used to extend an invitation for people to worship with us at Gateway. These major holidays are the perfect opportunity to invite people to church, and we pray their experience at Gateway will result in a new start - a relationship with Christ.
