Gateway to Learning
Our Mission
To exceed all standards in academic excellence and to promote spiritual development. We will always maintain a loving Christian atmosphere
that will prepare your child for the journey life takes them on tomorrow. We will encourage your children by providing new and exciting
ways to learn.
Our Purpose
To provide quality childcare in a Christian atmosphere in the light of God's Word, utilizing Christian education methods and principles, to develop every child to their fullest spiritual potential.
Our Goal
Let us unite in our commitment to the following goals of childcare as a way of life. All of our goals, practices and activities must flow from these purposes:
- To train each child in the knowledge of God's Word and obedience to His Will.
- To provide each child with an excellent spiritual education in the basic fundamentals required for success and for preparation for life's work.
- To teach the child respect for and submission to authority from God's perspective.
- To provide each child with a high regard for America, while thanking God for a national Christian heritage and teaching them the foundations of good citizenship.
- To aid families in Christian growth and to help them develop Christ-centered homes.
Our Philosophy
Our childcare center strives for high behavioral standards to equip the child to become a productive member of society as well as provide for a means by which the child may establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We begin with the belief that God is Creator of all and that real learning or growth must, of necessity, place Him in the center of all learning. He will be acknowledged in all classes for all ages.
About Gateway to Learning
Our childcare center offers full time care for children ranging in age from infants (6 wks) through pre-kindergarten. We provide after school
service for selected surrounding schools. The childcare center begins operation at 6:30 a.m. and closes each day at 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Enrollment
New classes are formed and presently enrolled children are promoted in August with the start of Conroe ISD's school year. Children are accepted throughout the year when space is available. The child's date of birth as of September 1st, determines enrollment placement. Children will remain in the same class for the school year, with the exception of ages 24 months and younger, who could possibly promote up in classrooms.
License
Gateway to Learning is currently licensed by the Department of Family and Protective Services of the State of Texas. We undergo regular inspections by this agency along with the Montgomery County Health Department and the local Fire Marshall. We proudly follow state and federal guidelines in each and every one of the prescribed areas of Health and Safety Standards. The state requires all teachers to be CPR certified, background checked and finger printed. There will always be a copy of our most recent licensing inspection report as well as a copy of our state's minimum standards available for review in the Gateway to Learning office.
Curriculum
Here at Gateway to Learning we have a faith-based curriculum called Spark. Spark is an early childhood curriculum written by a team of teachers and administrators. Spark is designed it to engage children through developmentally appropriate activities. The program provides hands-on, center-based activities, focused on the development of emerging skills in early childhood age groups.
What We Do
The childcare center offers an enriching, Christian oriented educational program with a flexible balanced variety of activities. This includes free play and creative play, structured games, Bible stories, and weekly chapel, music, arts and crafts, science and nature studies, sharing and story time. Facility amenities include an indoor and outdoor playground, a children's library, and an equipped music room.
- The children have rest and quiet times during the day and are given nutritious snacks. Special programs and activities include class pictures, open house, field trips, holiday celebrations, and graduation ceremonies.
- The childcare center serves elementary age children after school and for extended day care on school holidays. Older children are provided a supervised study time for homework. Organized activities and supervisors promote interpersonal relations and self-esteem.
