Mother's Day Out

Our mission is to provide a quality program that ministers to each child as well as their family. We provide a positive Christian atmosphere, which promotes mental, physical, social and spiritual growth.

Children are provided time each day to explore their surroundings freely, enjoy music, group play, pretending, fresh air and rest. We provide a clean, safe and well-supervised facility.

Our doors are always open, and we welcome you and your family to join in on the fun at any time!

Ministry Objectives

We want to provide an environment and experience that will allow your child to:

Enrollment

Children ages 1 year (as of September 1st of the school year) through Pre-K may be enrolled for the school year program. All children who are entering the 3's class must be potty trained. Children will be placed in rooms according to the child's birth date. We are always enrolling students in classroom where space is available. If we do not currently have space available for your child you can ask to be placed on our waiting list and we will contact you when a space opens up. It is advised that parents call early if they would like to enroll for upcoming sessions and get on the waiting list as soon as possible.

3-Day Week Schedule

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Our school program follows the Conroe ISD calendar. If CISD is out of school, we will be also. We also follow their plan for inclement weather and emergency closings.

Policies and Procedures

Upon enrollment each family will receive a parent handbook with complete details about our policies and procedures. Included is information about what to bring, health and safety, nutrition and more. If you would like a copy of this to review, feel free to ask the director.

All classrooms follow similar schedules. Children will have a snack in the early morning; have craft time (for classrooms where it is age-appropriate), playtime, lunch and rest. All classrooms ages 2 and younger observe nap time and children 3 and older have a short rest following lunch each day. Staff will not keep a child awake due to a special request. Feel free to pick up your child early if you do not wish for them to nap.

Curriculum

Curriculum is the framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did - in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man' (Luke 2:52). A child's growth and development is viewed as a process, not an event.

Development begins when the child is conceived and continues throughout life. Spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and social developments are equally important. (Lifeway Resources, 2007)

Our MDO Program follows the Route 52 Discover & Explorer Curriculum. We have curriculum designed for all the ages we teach. It is activity based, provides choices, allows for physical activity and is Biblically based. We also use an educational curriculum, Sparks. Throughout the school year we will have many different themes students will be learning. Classrooms will base activities on the age and developmental levels of the children. Classrooms will post the monthly calendar outside the door so you can see what your child will be involved in during the month. Parents are given a calendar at the beginning of the year.

We also offer a music class to all children. Teachers guide students through different music activities and engage in song and dance. We have chapel monthly and the Church has a library located in the preschool area. MDO children are welcome to borrow books from the library.
