God Hasn’t Forgotten

Week of September 6, 2024

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15

You may feel like that God is preoccupied with other more important matters than to be concerned with whats going on in your life. But the scripture above teaches us the correct truth. God said it would be more likely for a mother nursing her child to forget her child than for Him to forget one of His children. The mother becomes so preoccupied with other things that she neglects the needs of her child?

God is teaching us in this scripture that He is more sensitive to the needs of His children than a mother with an infant. It is a comforting thing to know that God will never forget us.

Don’t let the difficult circumstances you are facing convince you that God has forgotten you. Don’t assume that God is more interested in someone else's needs than yours. God looks upon you with the same love and concern as a nursing mother. Hopefully it reassures you to know that your Heavenly father loves you like that.

Take The Risk

Week of August 30, 2024

“The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.” (Genesis 12:7, NKJV)

God made Abram a great promise but, it required a risk. The promise that the Lord made to Abram I’m sure astounded him. “All the families of the earth were to be blessed through him.” But for that to be so he had to leave his home land, security, familiar surroundings. Abram discovered that being obedient meant risk.

Think of how hard we work to diminish the risks of life. We labor, save, plan, and invest ourselves with safe responsibilities. Then we settle into a neat, everything is the same and we complain because the excitement of life has come to an end.

Let’s conclude that none of us have arrived, there will always be a next step in our adventure with the Lord. He calls us to new levels of risk. The question is this, is there an element of risk in your life? What would you do if you trusted God completely?

Now absolutely the crucial element in taking risk is to discover where the Lord is leading God is not leading you to do everything but He is leading you to step out and do something. What is he inspiring you to do?

How Moldable Are You?

Week of August 23, 2024

“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?” (Isaiah 45:9, NKJV)

We are to be like clay in the potter’s hand. Clay does not determine the shape of the object fashioned. It doesn’t debate with the wisdom of the potter. It’s laughable to think that the clay as it comes off the potter's wheel is saying “I don’t like the way I have been shaped. I have a few ideas about how best I should be shaped. I have my rights, you know.” How absurd is that? But have we been guilty of that in so many words?

We are to be moldable clay in the potter's hand. He knows best what we are to do and what we are to become in life. The hymn says it this way,

Have Thine own way, Lord!

Have Thine own way!

Thou art the Potter;

I am the clay.

Mold me and make me

After thy will

While I am waiting

Yielded and still.

God can mold us and shape our lives in magnificent ways which we could never imagine but we must be willing to say “After Thy Will.” Are you open, willing and free to allow God to be the Potter in your life?
