“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” John 12:43 (NKJV)
Your good reputation is priceless, and it can't be gained overnight. You will never obtain it by giving favors with a hidden agenda; it has to be earned by an honorable life.
The standards by which we live our lives are to be of God. The opinions of other people should never compromise our Christian values. If you allow your reputation to be shaped by other people's opinions and expectations, your life will be governed by the ever-changing world values. There are so many value systems, and you can't comply with all of them.
When you live to please God alone, you develop a strong character and a good reputation. Your word becomes your bond, and you keep your promises. Your honesty is tempered with love, truthfulness becomes an essential part of your being, and because you are aware of your own vulnerability, you refrain from criticizing others.
Living to please God has a powerful effect on your life. If you honor God and allow Him to govern your life, you will have the respect of those who honor God's standards.
God Bless, Pastor Rick
