Christlike Representation

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.   (John 15:4, NKJV)

The central truth of the Christian message is that Christ lives in those who believe in Him.  One of the great desires of our life should be to grow into the likeness of Christ.  The realization that Christ lives in your heart could be an emotional experience.  However, when the emotional fervor has cooled off, what remains is your daily life.  We must ask this: is His Spirit revealed in our conduct and our actions in daily living?  To speak of Christ living in us while at the same time refusing to allow Him to be revealed through us with unselfish conduct and love in our actions is nothing but a false representation of the Christian experience.

It is a challenging thought to think that Christians are one of the main channels through which Christ reveals Himself to our world.  The Indwelling Spirit can overcome human weakness, and He can strengthen us when we feel inadequate.  So with that in mind, let's draw from His strength and be great representations of Christ in our daily lives to the world because our world so needs to see Christian (Christlike) representation.
