Week of October 15, 2021

“But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” (Matthew 14:16, NKJV)

Jesus asked His disciples to do something that without God was impossible. Gathered together were five thousand men and their families where Jesus was teaching and they were all hungry. There were only five loaves of bread and two small fish, which was not enough to feed this crowd. It may have seemed absurd to the disciples that Jesus would ask them to distribute such a small amount to such a large crowd but because Jesus had given the command, the disciples obeyed and witnessed firsthand an incredible miracle.

Christ will lead you into many situations that may seem impossible but do not try to avoid them. It is in the middle of these very situations that you will experience God. The difference between what appears to be impossible to us and what is actually possible is a word from the Lord. Our faith says yes to His divine commands and steps out in a direction that only God can complete.

Take inventory of your life and the decisions you are presently facing in your life. Have you received a word from the master that awaits your next step of faith? Proceed with what He has told you no matter how incredible it might seem and you will experience the joy of seeing the Lord perform a miracle.
