God's Good Hand Is Upon Us

Week of August 15, 2025

“and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy.” And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.” (Nehemiah 2:8, NKJV)

God’s hand is always upon His people, guiding, sustaining, and blessing.

When Nehemiah was called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, he faced opposition, yet he testified, “The good hand of my God is upon me.” That phrase wasn’t just a nice expression – it was a declaration of faith. Nehemiah believed that the presence, power, and favor of God were active in his life. Because of that, he moved forward with courage.

In the same way, when God’s good hand is upon us, it changes everything. It is the hand that flung stars into space, carved valleys, and still takes time to guide our steps. Sometimes we only notice His hand in hindsight. But at this very moment, God is working on your behalf.

So remember, if you’re facing something intimidating, challenging, or difficult, you’re not walking it alone. The same God who placed His hand upon Nehemiah, has placed His hand upon you.

One day - maybe not today or tomorrow - but one day when you look back, you’ll be able to say with a grateful heart: the good hand of God was upon me every step of the way.

God Bless, Pastor Rick
