"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

It may be natural for us to picture Jesus Christ as a Jew who lived during the age of the Roman Empire. It was during that time that God chose to reveal himself to the world through His Son. Consequently, it's easy for us to lose sight of the eternal existence of Jesus Christ.

He is eternal, and therefore He lives today. Just as He blessed and guided people back then, He wants to do the same for us today. Unfortunately, our perspective on His ability to help us and bless us is clouded by the problems of modern society. But the truth is the basic problems of the world today are exactly the same as when Jesus was on earth.

There are still the works of the flesh evident today, such as contentions, hatred, jealousies, the outburst of wrath, envy, fornication, selfish ambitions, etc. The good news is that Christ can deal with these negative aspects of the human heart and mind just as He did when He walked the face of this earth as a man because He is still eternal and unchanging. It is on this Steadfast Rock that we build our lives. Surrender your heart, soul, mind, and strength to Him. You will never regret your decision to do so.
