“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4, NKJV)
As a child of God, we are never alone. We must remember that our Shepherd is with us at all times. There is contentment in knowing that we never have to wonder where He is or have fears that if things become difficult in our life that He will abandon us. Just as He sees every sparrow in the sky and knows every hair that is on our head, He also knows our every true need. God goes before us, walks beside us, and comes behind us. So, even when you do not feel His presence, we can be assured that he is there.
He comforts us like no one else can in our times of sorrow. He purposely leads us through and not around the valley. There are times when our Shepherd knows that the only way to get us where he wants us is by taking us through the valley. In these times is when he is right there with us, reassuring us throughout the journey. We are also reminded that He still loves us.
It is uplifting to know that as a faithful Christian we never have to fear what is happening in our life and that nothing that we will ever face intimidates our Shepherd. He has seen it all and has soundly defeated the evil one. Our Shepherd is always prepared and knows exactly when and where we will experience difficulty. We must put all our trust in Him and as we do He will lead us through the valley.
