“And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:27, NKJV)
The decisive fact of your Christian life is not just the moment of your conversion. The question needs to be asked, how far have we progressed in our Christian faith? Conversion is only the beginning of your Christian journey. Discipleship implies growing faith, a love that is increasing, and obedience without conditions to our Lord.
We rejoice in the fact that Jesus is our Savior. A new life in Christ is like walking from the darkness into the light. Being a disciple means that we are united to the Lord, and our love and loyalty for Him compel us to greater obedience. The result is that we are more aware of His presence in our lives.
Discipleship implies continuous growth in Christ until He becomes the greatest motivating force in our life. Then we discover that we can do nothing without Him but that with Him, we can bear much fruit. You have given your heart to Christ as Savior, but have you surrendered your life so that He might be your Lord, resulting in continuous growth?
