Week of July 24, 2020

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9, NKJV)

Do you sometimes feel unsure of your faith, and you experience doubt and depression? Are you ever tempted to give up trying to be a Christian? However, what we need to remember is that there are two sides to our Christian faith, not just our side, but also God’s side. God has called us to live in harmony with Him. He has called us to be His disciples, and that is reason enough for us to stand strong, even in those times of doubt.

You belong to the Savior; He bought you with His blood and accepted you as His own. Remember your inheritance from God and the kind of life God has called you to. You have been chosen, you belong to a royal priesthood, and you have been set apart. Gather all the strength you possess to be true to this high calling of God. The result will be that your character and your attitudes will touch others. Our Lord will enable you to influence those He places in your path, as you become a representative for His kingdom.
