“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." (Ephesians 1:18, NKJV)
Salvation is God's gift to all who choose to accept it, but if you are to experience fulfillment and joy, you must live for Him with all fo your hearts, soul, mind, and strength. People who are enthusiastic about their faith receive much greater blessings from it than those who are lukewarm and indifferent about the truths of God.
So we have our personal responsibility to develop spiritual discipline. It is useless to ask God to strengthen your prayer life if you are not willing to give more time to prayer. If you have a desire to become more Christ-like, you are to be commended, but unless we are willing to spend more time meditating on the life, deeds, and character of Lord, that desire will not be fulfilled.
When we accept the Lord's gift of salvation, you commit your self to the responsibility of growing close to Jesus. Let's accept the responsibility of praying, reading God's word, and meditating on it. The result will be spiritual development.
God Bless, Pastor Rick
