“But go, tell His disciples, and Peter, that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” (Mark 16:7, NKJV)
Does God give second chances to those who have failed Him? The answer to that question is found in the life of Peter. Peter at one time proudly announced that he was Jesus’ most reliable disciple. Yet, during a pivotal ministry crisis, Peter not only fled with the other disciples, he also blatantly said that he did not even know Jesus.
Later on, after Jesus’ crucifixion, the angel at the tomb gave the women special instructions to let Peter know that He had risen from the dead. The resurrected Jesus appeared to Peter and allowed him the opportunity to reaffirm his love and commitment. Jesus restored Peter as His primary spokesperson on the Jewish holiday of Pentecost, on which three thousand people were added to the church. Peter gives us a good example that Jesus will find you and bring you peace in your life. If you feel you have failed the Lord, remember to never give up. Remember what happened to Peter and that God has not yet finished developing you as His disciple.
