Our Christian Faith Is A Process Of Growth

Week of October 9, 2020

“That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”  (Colossians 1:10, NKJV)

Many Christians make little progress in their Spiritual journey after accepting Christ as their Savior, which is sad.  They either forsake their first love, or they get sidetracked with other interests.

It is actually easy to determine whether we are growing spiritually.  Is Christ becoming more real to you?  When you have decisions to make, do you pray about it?  Do you find God’s will for your life in the scripture?  Are you closer to Christ than you were when you were born again?

It requires courage to answer these questions honestly.  It can be an unsettling experience if you are not ready to renew your faith in Christ.  Regardless of failures of the past, the Holy Spirit will inspire you to have a fresh new awareness of God’s presence in your life.  The more you are aware of Christ’s presence, the greater your love for Him will become.

Spiritual growth will bring life-giving energy that enables you to develop Christlikeness, which results in you demonstrating the fruit of Spirit in your life.  Fruit that the world so needs to see in our lives.  Paul said to Timothy once, “Stir up the gift of God in your life” or renew your faith in Christ.  Let’s take a look within and ask if we need to do the same.

God Bless, Pastor Rick
